The Bedfordshire Provincial Grand Chapter Convocation 2025
Spring Sunshine Heralds a Successful Annual Convocation of the Provincial Grand Chapter of Bedfordshire
Saturday, 5th April 2025, saw the Annual Convocation of the Provincial Grand Chapter of Bedfordshire held at Manshead School CE, Dunstable. The spring sunshine perfectly set the tone for a day filled with ceremony, companionship, and celebration as the event brought together Freemasons from across the Province.
Presiding over the Convocation was the Provincial Grand Superintendent of Bedfordshire, Nick Edwards, who was joined by his Officers and Companions of the Province, as well as numerous guests and visitors from neighboring Provinces. The event, which saw a total attendance of around 170 individuals, was another significant occasion for the Province.
A key highlight of the Convocation was the announcement of changes within the Provincial Executive. Long-serving members Bob Curson and Martin Wilson retired, marking the end of their distinguished tenures. In their place, Barrie House, Kyle Whitbread, and Robert Venn were promoted and appointed to higher offices, each receiving their investitures in a ceremony befitting the occasion.
The Provincial Grand Superintendent expressed his deep gratitude to Bob Curson and Martin Wilson for their years of dedicated service and support to the Provincial Grand Chapter, acknowledging their invaluable contributions. Their retirements were met with warm applause, and their successors were similarly welcomed with enthusiastic acclaim by all present.
In his address to the Convocation, Provincial Grand Superintendent Nick Edwards spoke with pride about the growth of the Order in Bedfordshire. He highlighted the importance of adaptation, promotion, and, most importantly, creating an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment within the Order. He commended the hard work of all members in contributing to the continued success of the Province, along with, most importantly, those who gave so freely of their time in making the event possible. Those present demonstrated their appreciation through heartfelt applause.
Once the meeting was closed all retired for a well-deserved refreshment and luncheon. The air was filled with the sounds of cheerful conversation, and the many smiling faces captured in photographs reflected the sense of community and achievement shared by all.
The Annual Convocation of the Provincial Grand Chapter of Bedfordshire was a resounding success, building on the solid foundations laid, and looks forward to continued growth and success in the years to come.
