Bedfordshire Masonic Walking Football Club

Walking Football

The Bedfordshire Masonic Walking Football Club (BMWFC) was created and instigated from an idea by W Bro Bob Curson in attempt to help the more sedentary brethren of our Province to get fitter, healthier, enjoy the outdoor environment, and meet likeminded individuals.

With initial support from Luton Town F.C. Community Trust under the guidance of Kevin Thoburn, 5 x 1-hour sessions on the 3G Astroturf pitch at Flitwick Leisure centre were booked. Wednesday 4th July 2018 saw the inaugural game played on a perfect summer evening with some dozen or so brethren ready to play. A coach supplied by LTFC refereed the game and provided an insight into the rules.

The game is played 4 x 12-minute segments with a refreshment break of 5 minutes between each one. Current cost is just £4 per session. We meet every Wednesday at 7:00pm at Flitwick Leisure Centre.

Eligibility to join

Anyone who would like to get fitter in a gentle and most enjoyable way. This Club is open to non-masons.

Upcoming Events

We will be commencing walking football again from Wednesday 1st June at 19:00.
The Venue will be the Flitwick leisure centre as before MK45 1TH .

We need a commitment of a minimum 6 people due to costs, an easy target to reach as I’m sure their will be plenty of interested brethren eager to lose a few pounds for the holiday season.

It will be £5 each and this time you’ll have to buy your own beer!

Let’s try and get a big turn out and please do pass this onto your friends and family who are also welcome.
