£500 to Support The Fancott Flyer
Bedfordshire Freemasons Charity Fund Trustees Bob Curson and Simon Barter, together with Provincial Grand Charity Steward Steve Joyce, were delighted to visit the team at the Fancott Miniature Railway Society this morning to present them with a cheque for £500.00.
The Society operates a wonderful ride-on miniature railway in the large grounds of the Fancott pub near Toddington. Operating since 1975 they are now the only miniature railway still running from the grounds of a pub. They specialise in providing an enjoyable and fun day out to families and community groups, and recently hosted the Luton Town under 8’s Girls team.
Chairman Ronald Stanbridge and Fundraiser Rob Winskell recently approached the Fund Trustees looking for assistance with funding the Societies’ first wheelchair access carriage to enable them to open up their wonderful facility to even more people and groups.
The facility at Fancott is run entirely by volunteers. During our visit they told us that they would love to hear from anyone who may be interested in joining the team. They can be contacted through their website: https://www.fancottrailway.co.uk
