Dear Brethren,

It is with sadness that I inform you of the unexpected passing to the Grand Lodge above Worshipful Brother Rodney George Hillyard PProvSGD on 6th of March 2026 (82).

Rodney was initiated on the 22nd of November 1993 in Lovells Bury Lodge L4018. He was installed as Master in 2003 and again in 2010. He was Chaplain from 2005-2006. Rodney resigned from Lovells Bury Lodge in 2024.

Rodney became a joining member of Cadwell Lodge L3201 (Cambs) in 2001 and a founder member of Fenland Meridian Lodge L9858 (Cambs) in 2010, being their Assistant Secretary from 2008 to 2013.

Bedfordshire Provincial craft rank came in 2008 PProvAGDC followed by PProvSGD in 2016. W. Bro Rodney served Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Freemasonry for 32 years.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Janette, Son Andrew, and family at this very sad time.

I will arrange a condolences card to be sent to the family on behalf of the Province and all Bedfordshire Brethren
