W Bro John William Craigie

It is my sad duty to inform you of the passing to the Grand Lodge Above of Worshipful Brother John William Craigie, b 9/3/1942 (78 years).

John passed away on 16th September 2020. I have only recently been informed of his passing and it has taken a little time to gather the information.

John was initiated into Freemasonry in 1964 into the Scottish Constitution. He lived and worked in Luton having a car repair business, once retired he resigned from all Masonry in Bedfordshire and moved with his wife full time to Spain, where I gather he joined a Lodge.

He was a member of:-

St John the Baptist L 475

Lovells Bury L4018

Thistle & Rose L 9351

With failing health John and his wife moved back to Luton. John suffered from Parkinson’s and lived his final time in a care home in Luton. It is not believed that his death was COVID related.

His funeral will take place at the Vale Cemetery and Crematorium, Luton on 14th October 2020. The limited number of attendees has already been allocated. John is survived by his wife Wynne, there being no children from the marriage. Neville Funeral Service website has details for charitable donations in memory of John.

As always I will be sending a card of condolence on behalf of the PGM and Brethren of the Province.

Yours sincerely and fraternally.

Yours,

Tony Green, Pr G Almoner
