Tom’s a Long Serving Bedfordshire Hero

Further to the news of his being honoured with the Order of St John (read the full story here), this week Tom Davison of Sir William Harpur Lodge was presented with a bar to his St John Ambulance Service Award.

The Service Award medal requires 12 years service, with each bar representing a further 5 years. The bar presented was therefore for 17 years service which he qualified for at the end of 2019. (He also volunteered for British Red Cross for 10 years before joining St John Ambulance, but apparently they don’t hold that against him). Only now that it is possible to meet again face to face was the ceremony able to be held.

The awards were presented by HM Lord-Lieutenant of Bedfordshire, Helen Nellis (pictured below with Tom), who also gave a “Bedfordshire Hero” pin badge to all recipients.
