Sarra’s Journey: Snowdon Determination and the Back up Charity

In 2018, Sarra Wilson suffered a life-changing spinal injury following a fall while horse riding. Thanks to the outstanding care she received and the unwavering support of her husband, Adam Wilson, a member of Lovells Bury Lodge 4018, Ampthill, she has faced every challenge with remarkable determination.

Never one to shy away from a challenge, Sarra set herself the goal of reaching the summit of Snowdon. In 2025, she her team and  Adam came agonisingly close, only for worsening weather conditions to force them to turn back.

Undeterred, Sarra refused to let that be the end of her story. Recently, she and her push team returned to Snowdon, including Lovells Bury members, Chris Day,  Ricky Day,  Craig Shelley, Patrick Clark and  Chris Gibson.

Sarra undertook the challenge in aid of the Back Up Charity, which provides invaluable support for people living with spinal cord injuries. Its services include peer mentoring, wheelchair skills training, activity courses, and help with returning to work or education. Through tailored, peer-led support, the charity helps people rebuild their confidence, independence, and outlook for the future.

Setting herself an initial fundraising target of £5,000, Sarra’s inspirational challenge has already raised £8,983 to date a fantastic achievement that will help the charity continue its life-changing work.

Sarra is a shining example of resilience, courage, and determination. Her story reminds us all that with perseverance, even the greatest obstacles can be overcome.

Her JustGiving page remains open for anyone wishing to support this remarkable achievement.
