
How is your Festival Donation Used by the Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF)?
There are many ways that the MCF uses your money that is donated during the Festival period. The Masonic Charitable Foundation builds better lives by enabling opportunity, advancing healthcare and education and promoting independence for Freemasons, their families and the wider community. Funded entirely through the generosity of Freemasons and their families, the Masonic Charitable Foundation is one of the largest grant-making charities in the country. Four main areas that it concentrates on are:
- Financial
- Family – Young people
- Health
- Family – Older people
A donation of £600 towards the Festival (£10 per month for five years) could or has provided one of the following:
- A grant provided a stairlift for a retired couple who suffer from osteoarthritis, helping them to better manage daily routine and making their home safer
- A grant for mortgage arrears caused by loss of employment due to C19 pandemic helped a single Freemason to clear his housing debts
- Extra-curricular activities for a child
- A piece of sport equipment or musical instrument for a child
- One-off emergency grant to cover household cost for a family in crisis
A donation of £300 towards the Festival (£5 per month for five years) could or has provided one of the following:
- A grant for specialist reading pen for a grandchild of a Freemason with Irlen Syndrome to understand and process visual information
- A grant for football sessions to support the grandchild of a Freemason in distressed circumstances
- A medical consultation
- End of course grant for a child
- Computer equipment for a child
