Hog Roast Raises £2,220 for Charity

Kingsbury 557 and Hugh de Payens 681 Preceptorys held their annual summer Hog Roast on Sunday. The weather was kind and everyone enjoyed a wonderful Hog Roast with the puddings being supplied from partners of the attending knights and guests. The afternoon saw the two Steve’s – otherwise known as ‘Just Us’ – come out of retirement to entertain everyone.

Pat and Julie Jefferson gave a demonstration and a line dancing lesson. There was also a music quiz and stand up bingo and a wonderful raffle with over 53 prizes. A fun afternoon was had by all, good food, the odd glass of something chilled, music, dancing and laughter.

We even nearly saw the Provincial Prior Roger Wortley and his good lady take to the dance floor! Maybe next time Sir! Both Eminent Preceptors, Richard Brown and Simon Barter were pleased to announce that during the afternoon the kind generosity of the knights and their guests had raised in excess of £2,200.00 for their chosen charities.
