Beds Installed Masters – An Evening With The Grand Secretary.

Over sixty members and guests recently enjoyed a very pleasant evening at Lodge 7301, Bedfordshire’s Installed Masters, where Adrian Marsh, The Grand Secretary, gave a talk about the trials and tribulations of overseeing the running of UGLE and looking after the fabric of our Head Quarters at Great Queen Street.

Adrian’s talk, entitled ‘Strong Foundations’, covered many aspects of his job including how the organisation is financed, the practicalities of maintaining a near 100-year-old building, the work going on, in the back ground, to modernise processes and practices to ensure Freemasonry is fit for the current age and how “Portal” will benefit us all .  The talk inspired a lively Q & A session, highlighting both the Provincial and Lodge perspectives which rounded off a very useful and informative discussion.

Earlier in the proceedings the members present were delighted to approve the application to join the Lodge from 41 Bedfordshire Past Masters and also receive a proposal for a further 17 Members to be balloted at the November meeting.
