Bedfordshire Meetings Suspended

Following the announcement last night that the borough of Luton will be moved to Tier 2 ‘High Alert’ restriction from 12.01am on Saturday, the Provincial Grand Master and Grand Superintendent for Bedfordshire Anthony Henderson has suspended all Craft and Royal Arch meetings for the foreseeable future for those that meet in the affected area.

In a letter distributed to all members he said;

Having consulted with senior members of both the Craft and Royal Arch Executives, I have come to the conclusion that for the safety and well-being of our members, their families, loved ones and friends, and the general public, all meetings, convocations and associated Masonic activities of Lodges and Chapters whose normal place of meeting is in a Tier 2 affected area in the Province of Bedfordshire shall be suspended for the foreseeable future.

To provide some clarity, I have decided that the period of suspension shall take effect from 0001 hours on 31st October 2020 until further notice.

This suspension will be kept under constant review by the Provincial Executive and will be amended in the light of any further HM Government announcements or restrictions and/or advice or directions from Grand Lodge and Grand Chapter.

Finally, please stay safe and stay well, and always observe the three simple actions we must all do to keep on protecting each other, which is to: “Wash hands > Cover face > Make space”.
