Elstow & Ampthill Lodges Unite for Summer BBQ in Support of Bedford’s SOS

Family, friends, and members of Elstow Lodge and Ampthill Lodge once again joined forces for their annual Summer BBQ and social gathering at Clophill Village Hall, combining a great afternoon of fellowship with fundraising for the outstanding work of Bedford’s Saturday Outreach Service.

On one of the cooler and more tolerable summer afternoons we’ve experienced recently,  guests enjoyed live music, a traditional coconut shy, delicious food, a selection of home-made sweets and plenty of good company.

The Lodges were especially pleased to welcome Bev and Brandon, the founders of SOS, and were delighted to present them with a donation of more than £900, raised during the afternoon, to support their invaluable work within the Bedford community.

Every Wednesday and Saturday, SOS and its dedicated team of volunteers provide food, clothing, and welfare support to those facing hardship from their regular base on De Parys Avenue. Their commitment makes a real and lasting difference to many people across the local area.

The work of Bedford SOS is greatly valued by those who rely on its services. To learn more about the impact of this remarkable charity, please follow this link.
