2026 Festival Golf Day
The fourth and final 2026 Festival Golf Day took place at Whipsnade Park Golf Club on Monday 10 August, bringing the four-year Festival golfing programme to a hugely successful conclusion.
A total of 76 players, supported by four volunteer helpers, enjoyed a fantastic day of golf, friendship and camaraderie. Despite the warm conditions, the slightly cooler 25°C weather made for enjoyable playing conditions, with the recent dry weather helping produce some excellent scores.
Mark Abass took the singles title with 44 points, winning on countback from Gregory Seaborn, also on 44 points. Anna Hoad finished third with 43 points.
The team competition was won by Team F, comprising John Morrow, Chris Hoad, Anna Hoad and Anthony Martin, with an impressive 129 points.
The day raised approximately £12,000, taking the total raised by the Festival Golf Days over the past four years to an outstanding £55,000.
Three lodges also achieved Festival Awards as a result of their support:
- Ampthill Lodge – Platinum Award
- Someries Lodge – Gold Award
- John Bunyan Lodge – Platinum Award
The event was supported by 18 hole sponsors and two additional sponsors, while teams from Hertfordshire, Metropolitan Grand Lodge, and Northamptonshire & Huntingdonshire joined us in support of the Festival.
Festival Chair Bob Curson thanked everyone who had supported the golf days over the past four years, with particular thanks to Martin Wilson, Steven Joyce, Stuart Allsop, Derek Dibley, Malcolm Hare and Steven Crombie.

The 2026 Festival Golf Day was a fitting finale to four years of fundraising, friendship and outstanding support for the Festival.
