Worshipful Brother David John Linger

Dear Brethren,

It is with sadness that I inform you of the passing to the Grand Lodge above Worshipful Brother and Comp David John Linger PProvGStB on 1st of February 2026 (78).

Sadly, we have only just been advised his passing, but I understand the funeral will be held at Bedford Crematorium Norse Road on 6th of March at 1:45 pm followed by refreshments at Sharnbrook Playing Field Club.

David was initiated on the 19th of December 1987 in Old Bedford Modernians Lodge L5268 being installed as Master in 2000 & 2009.

David was Exalted in Sir William Harpur Chapter C2343 on the 21st of January 2003, resigning in 2013.

Provincial rank came in 2008 when he was appointed PProvGStB.

David served Bedfordshire Freemasonry for 38 years in the Craft and Royal Arch Chapter 23 years.

Having lost his wife last year, David moved down to the Brighton area so that he could be closer to his two sons. Unfortunately, David’s health worsened and he passed peacefully.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this very sad time.
