The Case of the Manor Court Writer
Alex Prior, a member of Manor Court lodge that meets in Ampthill, has just published his first book ‘The Lost Case Files of Sherlock Holmes’. Now a Headteacher, Alex had a previous career working in TV, Film and Media, writing scripts and articles for a wide range of products and content.
A lifelong fan of Sherlock Holmes, it was the lockdown earlier this year that really focused Alex on writing the book. Busy days were followed by quiet evenings – no Lodge meetings to go to for a start. So, he decided to take the opportunity and really get cracking.
Once the book was essentially complete it went to a professional critic and editor (and Holmes afficionado), who gave an appraisal of it. Some of her (overwhelmingly positive) comments have made it to the back cover of the book.
The book has been a labour of love but having finished it he has already started on his next one (not Sherlock this time, but science fiction). However, if this one is well received, he does have a number more Holmes stories in outline and will very likely do another volume in due course. Proceeds from the sale of the book will go to Charity.
