£65,000 to Solace Women’s Aid

Unfortunately, the Christmas period is one of the worst times of the year for people living with domestic abuse, with reported cases spiking due to increased alcohol consumption and more time spent at home.

COVID-19 restrictions mean this year has been especially tough for those living in abusive relationships, with calls to the National Domestic Abuse Helpline up 80%. That’s why the MCF is confident their £65,000 grant to Solace Women’s Aid in Kent is going towards a worthy cause.

The charity offer 40 years of experience in working with survivors of sexual violence and domestic abuse, and provide advice, support, and accommodation to those who need it.
