Roger de Somery Rugby Lodge No. 6488 “Kick Off” with a New Banner
Saturday 1st March witnessed a very special meeting for Bedfordshire’s first special interest Lodge, The Roger de Somery Rugby Lodge, No 6488.
It meant an early start for many of the Provincial Team who, headed by the Provincial Grand Master, Nick Edwards, and having been suitably sustained by some excellent morning refreshments, oversaw the dedication of the new Lodge Banner at The Pavillion in Luton.
The dedication ceremony was a tribute to the meaning of banners, their symbolism and importance to Masonic Lodges, which was eloquently explained by the Provincial Chaplain.
It was certainly a proud day for the Lodge members, seeing the fruits of all their hard work “kick off” a new and successful chapter which was evidenced by ballots for a new candidate and two joining members.
On the “final whistle” the lodge was closed, with a loud “Huzzah” and all retired to the much needed celebration dinner.
