Help for the Lonely

This Loneliness Awareness Week, the MCF are taking a moment to appreciate their hard-working partners at Age UK .

With the help of a £1 million partnership, Age UK is running a programme of tailored support for older people going through a major life transition such as bereavement, financial hardship, or a serious health diagnosis.

Age UK’s advisers help older people to identify their goals and the skills, support and social networks they will need to achieve those goals.

So far, the MCF have worked with Age UK to help more than 3,200 older people and have identified over £5.7 million in unclaimed benefits, reductions and payments. That’s an average of an extra £4,000 per beneficiary supported!
