Brother Richard Anthony Owen Degnan

Dear Brethren,

It is with sadness that I inform you of the sad passing to the Grand Lodge above of Brother and Comp Richard Anthony Owen Degnan PProvGPurs on 25th of October 2025 (80).

Richard was initiated on the 27th of November 2002 in Manor Court Lodge of Ampthill L9096, Steward 2005 – 2006 and 2010 – 2012. Elected Treasurer. 2012 – 2014, 2018 – 2020 and 2021 – 2024

Bro Richard was Exalted in Manor Court Chapter of Ampthill C9096 on the 16th of November 2012.

Brother Richard received Provincial grand rank PProvGPurs in 2015 and served the province for 22 years in craft and 12 years in Royal Arch Chapter

Richard, a retired school master, had been diagnosed with cancer some years ago but carried on with great dignity through some very difficult times. Recently, the fight became too much, and his health deteriorated causing him to be bedridden for the last few months at home. Dick passed away peacefully with his wife and loving family around him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Josie and the family at this very sad time. I will be sending a card of condolences to the family on behalf of you and the Province.
