Bedfordshire Military Lodge Celebrates the Battle of Britain

For those who missed it, Bedfordshire Military Lodge No. 10075 held its first full meeting, with almost 40 Brethren attending an evening celebrating the 86th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

The Lodge room was proudly decorated with flags representing all three Services, creating a fitting backdrop to an evening that celebrated both military history and the Lodge’s own developing traditions.

A message from His Majesty The King was read to the Brethren, while the Honorary Members and Joiners were balloted for and welcomed into the Lodge.

Clive Walsh, Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master, thanked the Lodge on behalf of the Honorary Members and presented a gift of a Book of Constitutions. A message from the Provincial Grand Master, Nick Edwards, was also read.

The formalities were followed by a most enjoyable Festive Board, with plenty of good-natured inter-Service banter, friendship and encouragement from our visitors – particularly the “Britalia Garibaldi supporters”!

The Lodge’s next meeting takes place on Tuesday 10 November, when it will hold its first Initiation and of course mark the Armistice.

Adding further significance to the Lodge’s progress, on 15 September 2026 Bedfordshire Military Lodge was formally accepted into the Circuit of Military Lodges.

With such strong support from its members, visitors and the wider Province, Bedfordshire Military Lodge continues to go from strength to strength.
