Bedfordshire Freemasons Family Carol Service – A Wonderful Evening of Fellowship

The Bedfordshire Freemasons’ Family Carol Service, held on Sunday 7th December at St Peter de Merton Church in Bedford, saw an excellent turnout and a warm spirit of togetherness as members, guests, and families gathered to celebrate the festive season.

The service was led by the Reverend Christopher Damp, our Provincial Grand Chaplain, and featured contributions from several distinguished guests. We were honoured to welcome His Majesty’s Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Bedfordshire, Christopher Sharwood-Smith MBE DL; the High Sheriff of Bedfordshire, Miss Camilla King; and Pamela Green, representing the Order of Women Freemasons. Each took part by reading a lesson, as did the Provincial Grand Master, Nick Edwards, and Deputy Provincial Grand Master, Martin Wilson.

A strong representation from the executive teams of the Craft and Royal Arch was present, along with many Bedfordshire Freemasons and their families, creating a wonderful atmosphere within the church.

The service was enjoyed by all who attended. Children received festive gifts, and everyone was invited afterwards to share mulled wine, coffee, and mince pies—expertly served by the ever-dedicated Bedfordshire Grand Stewards.

This year’s event was a heart-warming reminder of the spirit of unity, charity, and fellowship at the core of Bedfordshire Freemasonry.
