£5,000 of Vouchers for Bedfordshire Refuges

Earlier this week the Provincial Grand Master, Anthony Henderson, accompanied by the Provincial Grand Charity Steward, Martin Wilson, and Robert Venn made a presentation to five women’s refuges in Bedfordshire of twenty £50 Gift cards for each refuge.
The Gift cards will be given one to each lady that enters one of the five refuges over the coming months to enable them to purchase essential items that they were not able to take with them when leaving their domestic situation. The representatives of the Women’s refuges said that most ladies when they got to the refuge were without basic items such as toiletries, bed linen, etc and sometimes had only minimal clothing.  The cards will enable the ladies to buy some of these essentials and make the transition somewhat easier.
Each refuge was also given two packs of TLC Teddies so that a bear could be given to each child that accompanied each lady.
