Worshipful Brother John Dewar Dudgeon

Dear Brethren,

It is with a heavy heart and sadness that I inform you of the sad passing to the Grand Lodge above of Worshipful Brother and Comp John Dewar Dudgeon on 8th of November 2025 (80).

John was Initiated on the 21st of November 2003 in Sandye Lodge L8820, installed as Master in 2009, 2012 and 2019, Chaplain 2013-2014 and 2016-2019. Assistant Secretary 2011-2012 and 2017-2018. Charity Steward 2014-2016 and 2018-2020, and Lodge Mentor 2022-2023.

John became a joining member of Airports lodge L9552, he was installed as Master in 2012 and 2019, Charity Steward 2014-2016 and 2018-2020, Chaplain 2016-2019 and Lodge Mentor 2022-2023.

John was Exalted in St Andrews Chapter C803 on the 26th of May October 2011, becoming Second Asst. Sojourner 2016-2017 and First Asst. Sojourner 2017-2018.

Provincial ranks first came in 2014 as PProvJGD and PProvGSuptWks in 2021.

John served the province for 21 years in the Craft and Royal Arch Chapter  for 14 years.

John was kind gentle man, an ex  professional footballer, a regular supporter of the lodges he was a member.

Sadly, his health deteriorated, he spent a short time in hospital, finally he came home where he passed peacefully with his wife and family at his side.

He will be sorely missed by all those who knew this lovely man.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Val and the family at this very sad time. I will be sending a card of condolences to the family on behalf of yourself and the province.
