W Bro John McLean Cassidy

It is with great sadness that I must report to you the Passing to the Grand Lodge Above of Worshipful Brother and Excellent Companion John McLean Cassidy, born 30th September 1942 (80 years).

Bro John had been unwell for some time and sadly passed away on Saturday 22nd October 2022

He was initiated into Freemasonry on 11th December 1963 and dedicated 58 years to the craft and 56 years in Holy Royal Arch.

A current subscribing member of the following Craft Lodges: –

A current subscribing member of the following Royal Arch Chapters: –

  • Hertfordshire First Principles C4090
  • Sprig of Acacia (Herts) C3318

Former member of the of the following Craft Lodges: –

  • Bedfordshire lodge of Installed Masters L7301
  • Michael Sawyer Lodge of Reunion L9848

Honours: –

  • Craft; PAGDC – SLGR – PPrAGReg – Liaison Officer.
  • Royal Arch; PPrGReg.

John was a Hertfordshire Mason but was also a valued member of his Bedfordshire lodges, and those that knew him said he was completely dedicated to his roles as Charity Steward a truly unique character who will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

I will be sending a card of condolence on behalf of the Provincial Grand Master and Brethren of the Province to John’s wife and family.
