Veritas Lodge Scores GOLD!

On Tuesday the 15th of March Veritas Lodge No 9108 held its Installation meeting at the Ampthill Masonic Centre.  Worshipful Brother Robert Venn, Provincial Junior Grand Warden was representing the Provincial Grand Master and was escorted by Worshipful Brother Craig Gillespie, Provincial Grand Steward.  There were thirty members and visitors present to witness the unique ritual of the Veritas lodge particularly the inner workings.

Just after the inner workings had been completed there was a report on the door of the lodge and the Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies Worshipful Brother Andy Routledge entered the lodge to say that the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, Worshipful Brother Hugh Love was present and would like admittance.  Worshipful Brother Hugh Love was duly admitted into the lodge and the ceremony continued.

When it came to the item of Any Other Business the secretary Worshipful Brother Martin Wilson explained the reason as to why the Assistant Provincial Grand Master had arrived late and come to the lodge meeting.  It was stated that he was there for two reasons, firstly to present a 2026 festival jewel to Worshipful Brother Michael Lindell who had qualified for it and secondly to present the lodge with their honorific award.

Worshipful Brother Martin Wilson explained the various levels of bronze silver and gold and how much per capita had to be raised to achieve each.  Veritas lodge had in actual fact achieved over £600 per capita and were therefore awarded the Gold lodge honorific, which the Assistant Provincial Grand Master pinned onto the charity stewards collar.

Veritas Lodge is the first lodge within the Province to achieve gold status and it is hoped that there will be many more lodges achieve this status before the end of the festival in 2026
