The Sun Shines for Bedfordshire Royal Arch
The spring sunshine provided a perfect backdrop to the Annual Convocation of the Provincial Grand Chapter of Bedfordshire, held at Manshead C.E. School, Caddington on Saturday 28th March 2026.
The Convocation was presided over by Nick Edwards, Grand Superintendent of Bedfordshire.

Among those in attendance was Gareth Jones OBE, Third Grand Principal, who was admitted with full ceremony and warmly received.
In his address, the Third Grand Principal expressed his pleasure at being present and spoke warmly of the reception he had received. He also shared thoughts on the “One Journey, One Organisation” vision, encouraging continued development of engagement within the Royal Arch.

The Grand Superintendent announced the reappointments of his Deputy and Barrie House and as Provincial Second Grand Principal Kyle Whitbread.
The Grand Superintendent advised that unfortunately, due to a longstanding commitment, the appointment and investiture of Andrew Routledge as Provincial Third Grand Principal was deferred until the April 21st meeting of Sir William Harpur Chapter.
He next expressed his greatest appreciation and thanks Rob Venn for his many years of service to Royal Arch Masonry and confirming that Rob would remain in office as Provincial Third Grand Principal until the 21st of April.
The Grand Superintendent then conferred a number of other Provincial reappointments, appointments and promotions, all of which were warmly applauded.
The Convocation was closed in due form, after which Companions enjoyed refreshments and an excellent luncheon.
In response to his toast, at luncheon, the Grand Superintendent expressed sincere thanks to Manshead School and its staff for their support, to Tony Green, Provincial Scribe E, the caterers, and the team of Provincial Stewards whose behind the scenes efforts ensured the smooth running of the day. Particular appreciation was given to the St John Ambulance team, who more than proved their worth.
