St Andrew’s Lodge Quiz Night Raises Funds for the Festival

Saturday evening saw the Quiz Night organised by W Bro Matt Stanley (Charity Steward, St Andrew’s
Lodge) presided over professionally by W Bros Janet Stanley (Farley Lodge) and Graham Stanley
(Wenlock Lodge) on behalf of St Andrew’s Lodge, to raise funds for the MCF Bedfordshire 2026
Festival.

Six teams of ‘quizzers’ took part in 10 rounds of questions comprising of categories such as literature,
geography, history, movies, and music. Unlike regular ‘pub style’ quizzes, each team were given all the
questions for each round and had 10 minutes to write their answers. Jokers could be played before
each round started in a bid to double your points for that round. Each round was marked by Graham,
whilst Janet delivered the answers to the previous round. A picture round was handed out during the
buffet meal, which was a fantastic feast consisting of baked potatoes with a selection of toppings
including chilli beef, beans, cheese, and tuna with salad and gammon ham, all expertly delivered by
Housden’s Catering.

During the evening, along with the obligatory raffle, a ‘name the greyhound’ scratch-card game was
played where players would pay a £2 stake to guess the name of the greyhound hidden under the
scratch panel, with half of the amount raised going to the winner as a prize.

At the end of the evening the winning quiz team was announced, who were suitably presented with
winners’ medals and a shared prize.

On behalf of St Andrew’s Lodge 803, we would like to thank W Bros Janet and Graham for making this
a super event and helping us raise a total of £255 towards the MCF Bedfordshire 2026 Festival fund.
