Simon Sings for the Christmas Supper

On Wednesday 13th December Simon Barter entertained residents and guests at the Prince Michael of Kent Care Home Christmas Party in Watford.

The event was arranged by the Association of Friends of PMKC and instead of holding it at Halsey Hall Masonic Centre, it was decided to bring the event in house to make it more accessible for all. Volunteers served food and drinks to the guests so they could sit back and enjoy the festivities.

Simon also used the opportunity to present the Association with a cheque for £1000, part of the charitable donations from his year in office as Master of The Earl of Court Town Lodge No 7653. The money is to sponsor two music events on 18th Feb and 7th April next year, as well as the Annual Canal Trip on 17th May.

Music plays a huge part in people’s lives, especially with dementia sufferers and it is not unusual to see people sing along to songs from their younger years, when normally they are non-communicative.

It was a fantastic afternoon, with a full Christmas dinner being enjoyed by some 40 guests and family members, with a mixture of Christmas songs and sing a long music for everyone.
