John the Planter: The first noble Grand Master

Join the Museum of Freemasonry’s Curator Mark for the next in their spring season of Online Talks, Tuesday 11 May at 7.30pm.
John, First Duke of Montagu appears on the frontispiece to the 1723 Constitutions of the Free-Masons. Almost forgotten by history he lived a diverse and forward -thinking life at the centre of the courts of King George I and II.
The talk explores this man of humanity, good humour, and many more things than you’d expect from a 1700s aristocrat.
