Duo Fraternitates Lodge Makes Masonic History at Scout Centre

Duo Fraternitates Lodge No. 9146 made history on Saturday, 3 October 2026, becoming the first Masonic lodge to hold a meeting at the Bromham Scouting Centre near Bedford.

The meeting saw Ahmed Khan passed to the Degree of Fellow Craft in a memorable ceremony. Among those attending were the Past Provincial Grand Master for Bedfordshire Tony Henderson and Past Deputy Provincial Master Bob Lovesey.

Tony then  faultlessly assisting in the ceremony.

Following the formal proceedings, the Brethren enjoyed a traditional campfire-style meal of sausages, beans, mash and onion gravy, followed by a singalong of classic campfire songs.

The combination of Freemasonry, fellowship and a touch of scouting nostalgia proved a winning recipe, with the meeting declared a great success.

Such was the enthusiasm for this unique occasion that the Lodge hopes to return to the Bromham Scouting Centre next year!
