Church Riverside Scout Group Hut Reopens in Leighton Buzzard

Members of Leighton Cross Lodge were delighted to support the rebuilding of the Riverside Scout Group Hut in Leighton Buzzard, following the severe flooding of 2024 which caused irreparable damage.

Working alongside Old Dunstablians, Bida Motorcycle Group and the Gables Ladies Luncheon Club, the Lodge contributed to a remarkable community effort that has raised over £250,000 towards the rebuild.

On Saturday 28th March 2026, representatives attended the formal opening of the new Scout Hut, marked by speeches from the Town Mayor and a blessing from the local Vicar.

Fundraising efforts continue, with a further £15,000 needed to complete the project through the refurbishment of the car park.
