Annual Meeting of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Bedfordshire
The meeting of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Bedfordshire was held on Tuesday 21st October 2025, at the Bedford Corn Exchange.
The meeting was presided over by the Provincial Grand Master for Bedfordshire, Nick Edwards, who welcomed and thanked all for their attendance.
Some 250 plus attended with many visitors from reciprocating Provinces and Masonic Orders, with all lodges in the Provinces being represented,
The meeting marked both the retirement of Clive Walsh as Deputy Provincial Grand Master and the appointment of his successor, Martin Wilson.
A Tribute Clive Walsh
The Provincial Grand Master, Nick Edwards, paid warm tribute to Clive for his years of loyal and dedicated service to the Province. He spoke of Clive’s tireless efforts, steady guidance, and commitment to the Masonry, which have earned him the deep respect and affection of all who have worked alongside him. He also reminded all that Clive was to continue in many valuable roles and offices within the Province.
As a token of appreciation, the Provincial Grand Master had great pleasure in presenting Clive with a Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master’s Collarette, as a mark of the Province’s gratitude for his outstanding contribution.
The Appointment of Martin Wilson
Following Clive’s retirement, the Provincial Grand Master had the pleasure of installing Martin Wilson as the new Deputy Provincial Grand Master. In his remarks, the PGM said he had “no doubt that Martin will continue the excellent work of his predecessor” and added that he looked forward to working closely with him in the years ahead.
Provincial Appointments and Promotions
The meeting also saw the reappointment as Assistant Provincial Grand Masters of, Stephen Attwood and Dean O’Connell.
The reappointment and promotion of a number of Provincial Officers was then made by the Provincial Grand Master, as well conferring first appointments for several brethren.
The Provincial Grand Master congratulated all those honoured, encouraging them to continue their valuable contributions to the Province.
2026 Festival:
Three Lodges were acknowledged for their support of the Bedfordshire 2026 Festival in achieving Platinum Status with presentations of Silver Salvers to the current Masters, of All Saints no. 8776, Warden no.4608 and Gilbert Inglefield no. 8009.

There were 191 diners at the after proceedings held at the Mercure Hotel, Bedford, where the were many old friendships rekindled and new ones forged.
