Brother Anthony Roy Underwood

Dear Brethren

It is with sadness that I inform you of the passing to the Grand Lodge above Worshipful Brother Anthony Roy Underwood PProvJGW on 16th of August (91).

Roy was initiated on the 11th of November 1967 in Old Cedarians Lodge L8078 where he  was installed as Master  in 1980 and then held the office of Chaplain in the years  2012 – 2013, 2019 – 2020 and  finally 2022 – 2026.

His first Provincial Appointment  came in 1988 as  PProvJGD and then in 1995 promotion to PProvGSwdB, then to  PProvGReg in 2003 and finally as  PProvJGW in 2013.

He was presented with his 50 years certificate in Freemasonry in 2017.

Within the order of Mark Masonry Roy was a Grand Officer and  a member of Beaudesert Mark Lodge M1350 and in the degree of Royal Ark Mariner a member of  Grand Union Lodge RAM1350 .

Sadly, his brave battle with prostate cancer became too much for him, he fought with great courage but sadly passed away peacefully with his family at his side.

He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all those that knew him

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Margaret and family at this very sad time.
