Brother Mervyn Keith Brown

Dear Brethren,

It is with sadness that I inform you of the sudden passing to the Grand Lodge above of Brother and Comp Mervyn Keith Brown PProvGStB on 13th of May 2026 (94).

Mervyn was Initiated on the 4th of November 1961 in St Alphege Lodge L4095 (Somerset) of which he was elected an Honorary member in 2017.

Mervyn became a joining  member of Berkhamstead Lodge L504 (Herts) in 1974  through to  1986, rejoining  in 1993 until 2005.

In 1993 became a joining member of Earl of Courtown Lodge L7653 serving as  Assistant Secretary 2014 – 2017 and as Charity Steward 2018 – 2024. Mervyn was  elected an Honorary member 2024.

Mervyn was Exalted in Berkhamstead Chapter C504 (Herts) on 18th of June 2002.

In 2022 he was appointed to PProvGStB within the Province of Bedfordshire.

Mervyn served Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, and Somerset Craft Freemasonry for 64 years and Royal Arch Chapter 23 years.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this very sad time..
