Pillars and Pistons Raises £1,000 for the Bedfordshire Festival
The inaugural Bedfordshire Pillars and Pistons event was held on Saturday and proved a huge success raising over £1,000 for the 2026 Festival.
A range of supercars, modern sports cars and classics met at the Keep in Kempston for a cuppa and a bacon butty before driving in convoy through Bedford town centre then across country to Colmworth. Once there we took the opportunity to have a good look at the cars and decide who would be the trophy winners.
Trophies were awarded for best supercar, best modern sports and best classic, as well as car of the show. The Provincial Grand Master was in attendance to present the trophies – including a special award to Dave Samuel for best car with no engine (it’s one of those electric things).
This is the first of what is hoped will be many successful Pistons and Pillars events, so keep your eye out for details of the next outing.
Alan Pearson receives his trophies for both best classic and car of the show from the PGM for his magnificent Wolsey.
Dave Samuel receives his special award.
Ian Cobban and a parrot – we don’t know why either!
