Over 150 Years of Service to Freemasonry

This week Tony Green, our Provincial Secretary and Ian Church, his Assistant had the pleasure of presenting three “50 Year” Certificates.

At The Keep, presentations were made to Sandy Lammie and Geoff Stone.

Sandy was Initiated in St Andrews Lodge in 1973 and became a joining member of Old Bedford Modernians Lodge in 1980.

Geoff, who is also a holder of the Provincial Grand Masters Certificate of Merit, was Initiated in 1972, in Gloucestershire, became a joining member of Gilbert Inglefield Lodge in 1979, and subsequently a member of Bedfordshire Lodge of Installed Masters and a Founder of Veritas Lodge.

The third certificate was presented to Michael Johnson, who was Initiated in Russell Lodge in 1974. He became Master of the Lodge in 1982.

There was lots to reminisce about during the presentations. As well as Freemasonry 50 years ago, many poignant parts of history were covered, including when a pint of beer was 15p and a Watneys Party Seven was just £1 from the Co-op!
