Duo Fraternitates Open the Door of Freemasonry

Duo Fraternitates Lodge No 9146 celebrated their 40th Anniversary this weekend by opening up their regular meeting to prospective candidates for Freemasonry.  Two other Lodges took up their offer to bring non-Masons as guests, visit the Luton Centre, see the Lodge room and learn more about Freemasonry in general.

The meeting was attended by four visitors who were invited into the Temple to receive a short introduction from Assistant Provincial Grand Master, Dean O’Connell before Dewi Jones, the current Master of Duo Fraternitates, spoke about his Masonic background and raised a few eye brows with his opening question on the connection between a key fob, a 19 year old University Student, the Simpsons and Freemasonry?

Over drinks and the dinner that followed the meeting, the guests were free to ask questions and quiz their hosts, and other members, about all things Masonic.

The charity raffle raised £130 with half of the proceeds being donated to Keech Hospice, proposed by one of the visitors who had been invited to suggest a suitable good cause.

As a result of the evening, it is anticipated that three of the guests will be submitting an application to become a member of Duo Fraternitates or one of the other Bedfordshire Lodges.
