Brother John Quick

Dear Brethren

It is with sadness that I inform you of the passing to the Grand Lodge above Worshipful Brother and Excellent Companion John Quick PProvJGW on 2nd of August 2026 (84).

John was initiated on the 2nd of February 1988 in All Saints Lodge L8776 he was installed as Master in 1996 and again 2004, he served as Chaplain  for 2001 – 2002 and again from 2011 to 2023. John was elected an Honorary member in 2025.

In 1998 he joined the Bedfordshire Lodge of Provincial Grand Stewards L9577 and  was elected Tyler for 2000 – 2001.

John was Exalted in Beaudesert Chapter C1087 on the 24th of February 1993. He was Installed as MEZ for 2008 – 2009, and  again in 2014 – 2015. Then serving as Scribe N from 2017 – 2023. He was elected an Honorary member in 2025

His first Provincial Craft appointment  came in 1997 as PProvGStwd, promotions followed in  2001to  PProvJGD and PProvGSuptWks in 2009, PProvGReg in 2016 and PProvJGW in 2022.

He first Provincial appointment in the Royal Arch  was to ProvGStB in 2011 – 2012 and then promotion to PProvGSoj in 2016.

John served Bedfordshire Craft freemasonry for nearly 40 years and Royal Arch Chapter 33 years.

Over recent years John’s health deteriorated and was unable to attend meetings as had done regularly in the past. John passed away peacefully in his hospice with his family around him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Eleanor and family at this very sad time. I will arrange a condolences card to the family from the province.
