W Brother Colin Richard Gilbert

Dear Brethren,

It is with great sadness that I must inform you of the passing to the Grand lodge above Worshipful Brother and Excellent Companion Colin Richard Gilbert PPrGReg on the 31st of January 2024 (87)

Colin was initiated on the 6th of October 1981 in All Saints Lodge L8776, He was Master in 1990 and Assistant Director of Ceremonies from 2000 to 2006.

In 2004 he joined the Bedfordshire Lodge of Installed Masters L7301, resigning in 2022.

Colin Exalted into Beaudesert Chapter C1087 on 22nd of May 1991, MEZ 1998. In 2005 Colin joined Bedfordshire First Principal’s Chapter C7301, resigning 2022.

He was also Past Sovereign of Leighton Rose Croix Chapter RC607 in 2015

Bro Colins’ first Craft Promotion came in 1997 as PPrGStB, 2003 PPrSGD, 2010 PPrGSuptWks and in 2017 PPrGReg. In 2013 he was appointed Royal Arch Chapter PPrGSwdB and in 2020 promoted to PPrGReg.

Worshipful Brother Colin supported the Province of Bedfordshire for 42 years in Craft and for 32 years in Royal Arch Chapter.

Although Colin had been poorly of late, his passing was unexpected.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this sad time. I shall be sending his wife April and family a condolences card on behalf of you, the Executive and Brethren.
