W Bro John Henry Carter

Dear Brethren,

It is with great sadness that I must officially inform you of the passing to the Grand lodge above of Worshipful Brother and Companion John Henry Carter on Wednesday 21st of June 2023 (75)

Worshipful Brother John was initiated on the 12th of October 1977 into Wenlock Lodge L6093, he held most offices including Director of Ceremonies, Chaplain, Mentor and Charity Steward, and Master in 1987 and 2004. Early 1984 John was one of the founding members of Veritas Lodge L9108, Master in 1991 and Chaplain for many years.

A joining member of Bedfordshire Lodge of Installed Masters L7301 in 1989 resigning in 2009. In August 2000, a founder member of the Martin Foss Lodge of Research L9722 becoming Master in 2002 and 2019. On the 8th of January 1982 Comp John was exalted into St Mary Chapter C3654, a long-standing Scribe E from 2004 to 2015.

W. Bro Johns first appointment came in 1994 PPrAGDC, in 2000 PPrGSwdB and 2006 PPrGReg, October 2012 was appointed PrJGW, then in 2015 became the PrGChStwd. On the 14th of March 2018 was invested to Grand rank, PGStB in the United Grand Lodge of England.  

I am not aware of any further details but as and when I get them will pass then to via the Provincial website and lodge Almoner.

I am sure that you will join with me in offering our sincere condolences to the family at this very sad time. I shall be sending a condolences card to Rita and the family on behalf the Provincial Grand Master, executive and Brethren of the province.
