Supporting Sufferers of Sexual Abuse

In the UK alone, around one in 20 children have been sexually abused – a shocking statistic. Sexual abuse can having devastating consequences on a child’s mental health, and can trigger issues such as PTSD or developing challenging behaviour.

The MCF’s £15,000 grant to Nottinghamshire-based charity Imara is helping to provide an early intervention service to families affected by child sexual abuse, as well as long-term counselling and support through the court process.

While COVID-19 has forced many of their services online, the charity continues to make a difference and have expanded their services to ensure they can support as many children as possible.
