Most Excellent Grand Superintendent Presents His Certificate of Merit to E. Comp. David Cato
On Friday 3rd December the Companions of Bedfordshire First Principals Chapter, witnessed a very rare occasion – the previous occasion was in 2008!!!.
Just before the Chapter was closed, Excellent Companion Anthony Paul Henderson, Bedfordshire’s Most Excellent Grand Superintendent, requested his Escort, E. Comp Steve Churchill (Prov DC) to escort the Deputy Grand Superintendent, E. Comp Bob Curson, the 2nd Provincial Grand Principal, E. Comp Tim Pope and the 3rd Provincial Grand Principal, E. Comp Richard Ward to join him. He then asked his Escort to bring E. Comp David Cato, a stalwart of the Beaudesert Chapter No 1087 for over 50 years and well-respected Chairman (just for the last 45 years!!!!!) of the Gables Masonic Centre in Leighton Buzzard to him – it’s fair to say none of the Companions present know what was going to happen next????
MEGS assisted by his Executive, then informed the Companions that he had great pleasure and delight in presenting E. Comp David with a 50 year Certificate, to mark his significant contribution to Royal Arch Masonry in Bedfordshire. He then went on to present E. Comp David Cato with his Certificate of Merit. A very emotional but very happy and smiling E. Comp David thanked MEGS for his certificate and award to the rapturous applause of the Companions present
