Lester Celebrates 50 Years in Bedfordshire Freemasonry
On Friday 6th September, Hugh Love and Ian Church joined Lester Smith, along with St John’s Lodge Members, Dave Samuel, Brian Benson, Gary Benson and Chris Watts at the Pheasant Public House in Bedford to celebrate his 50th year in Freemasonry.
Lester is a Bedfordshire Mason through and through. He initially joined Ivel Lodge in 1974 and then St John’s Lodge in 1980 becoming Master in 1989 and again in 2012. He was a Founder member of Bedfordshire Lodge of Benevolence, becoming Master in 1996. Lester was also a Founder of John Hindle Lodge and a member of the Russell Chapter.
Since 1994, his hard work and commitment has been recognised four times by the Province.
A splendid afternoon was had by all. Lester entertained everyone with Masonic stories from the Province over the past 50 years and was delighted to receive his celebratory certificate.
