Ivel Lodge, Seventy-Five and Thriving.
There was a lot to celebrate at Ivel Lodge No 6846 this week.
The first was marking their 75th Anniversary and Nick Edwards, the leader of Bedfordshire Freemasons was delighted to be able to open the meeting and give a superb recap of the Lodges history before handing over proceedings to prevailing Master, Brian Huffer.
Nick was accompanied by his Executive team and most of his Provincial Officers. Many of them will stepping down from active duty at the Bedfordshire Provincial meeting next week, so the Ivel meeting provided a great opportunity to celebrate with a final Provincial Team visit of the Masonic year.
The highlight of the evening was Brian Huffer installing Rob Dashwood as the new Master of the Lodge, who subsequently appointed and invested a full team of “Light Blue” Officers in the progressive roles, which sets a fine example and bodes very well for the next 75 years.
The meeting was concluded with a fun and enjoyable celebration meal, with nearly 70 Brethren dining.
A great night was had by all.
