Its Game On For Bedfordshire’s Rugby Lodge
Roger de Somery Rugby Lodge No 6488 celebrated their Installation Meeting at Luton this weekend when Paul Kilby became the new Master of the Lodge being ably Installed by Past Master, Gary Jones. Interestingly Paul will still be in the Chair of Roger De Somery Lodge when he becomes the Master of his Mother Lodge, Lovells Bury Lodge No 4018, in September next year.
Clive Walsh, deputy leader of Bedfordshire Freemasons was in attendance and he presented a Bedfordshire 2026 Festival Jewel, the Silver Festival Award to the Lodge as well as two Past Masters Jewels, the first to Gary Jones and the second to Andrew Potter, the Master from 2022-23.
Having completed his presentation duties, Clive was delighted when the compliment was returned and the Lodge members presented him with a Roger De Somery Rugby Lodge cap.
Following the formal proceedings, a celebratory dinner was enjoyed by all, after which many stayed to watch the Gallagher Premiership game on TV.
The Rugby Lodge’s next Meeting is on 9th November at 11:00 when the Secretary of a Luton Rugby Club will be joining the Lodge. This will be followed by a, no-doubt lively, traditional dinner before watching England v Australia in the Autumn International Series.
If you are fan of the funny shaped ball, get the date in your diary now and make contact with the Lodge Secretary.
