Historic Day for Bedfordshire Freemasons

Bedfordshire Freemasons paraded in public for the first time in nearly 100 years yesterday, as they attended a special service at St Peter de Merton Church in Bedford. The service was to re-dedicate the refurbished altar gates that were originally donated to the church in memory of Dr Charles Prior, Bedford’s Coroner and Deputy Provincial Grand Master, in 1908.

The service also remembered all those whose funerals we were unable to attend due to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic.

A moving and memorable day for all those who attended.
