Earl of Courtown Push the Boat Out

On Friday 17th May the residents of Prince Michael of Kent Court Care Home enjoyed a fantastic canal boat trip, sponsored by the members of The Earl of Courtown Lodge No 7653. Lodge Almoner, Simon Barter and his wife Lynn, were on hand as regular volunteers, to help with the smooth running of the event.

The residents were transported to Kings Langley in time for the trip to set sail at 11:30. Sheldrake III passed through three locks before turning round at Hunton Bridge and collecting the Fish and Chip Lunch. Everyone enjoyed the meal, followed by a sing-a-long, returning to Kings Langley at 15:30.

The weather was hot and sunny with wildlife in abundance. Everyone was really relaxed, thoroughly enjoying passing through the Hertfordshire countryside at 3mph.

Doug Brodie thanked Simon and Lynn on behalf of the Residents, Carers and Volunteers and asked that the best wishes of the Association of Friends of Prince Michael of Kent Court be sent to The Earl of Courtown Lodge members for sponsoring the trip, funded from a donation of £1000 made from the Masters Charity list.
