Brother Nigel Harry Dyke
Dear Brethren
It is with sadness that I inform you of the passing to the Grand Lodge above Worshipful Brother and E Comp Nigel Harry Dyke PProvSGD on 24th of September 2026 (86).
Nigel was initiated on the 26th of April 1969 Thames Mouth Lodge L6994 (Essex) resigned 1981.
He became a joining member of Beaudesert Lodge L1087 in 1984, he was installed as Master in 1994, serving then as Secretary from 1995 – 2000, Assistant Secretary 2000 – 2001 and lastly as Almoner 2009 – 2010.
Nigel became a joining member of Bedfordshire Lodge of Installed Masters L7301 1996 – 2002. He then joined Old Cedarians Lodge L8078 and was appointed Almoner 2009 – 2010
Nigel was Exalted in Old Cedarians Chapter C1087 on 26th of October 1994, he resigned in 2001. Subsequently he joined Taplow Chapter C3111 (Bucks) in 2006. Serving in the offices of Steward, First Assist Sojourner, Principal Sojourner, Joshua, and Haggi. The Chapter was erased in 2011.
His first Provincial appointment came in 2000 as PProvSGD, Bedfordshire.
In Mark Master Masonry Nigel was Past Master of Beaudesert Mark Master Masons Lodge M1350 (Bucks) being appointed as Past Grand Junior Overseer, and then promoted to Past Provincial Grand Secretary in the Province of Buckinghamshire.
He served Craft Freemasonry for 57 years, and Royal Arch Chapter 31 years.
Sadly, Nigel had been in declining health for some time and had suffered with heart problems, resulting in several hospital admissions over the past couple of years.
Nigel is survived by his wife, three daughters and a son, Joe, who is a member of Old Cedarians Lodge.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Elise and family at this very sad time. I will arrange a condolences card to the family on behalf of yourself and the province.
