Brother Michael Frederick Johnson

Dear Brethren,

It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of the sudden passing to the Grand Lodge above Worshipful Brother Michael Frederick Johnson PProvGReg on 11th of June 2026 (89).

Michael (Mick) was initiated on the 7th of March 1974 in Russell Lodge L4413 and installed as Master in 1982.

Michael’s first Provincial Grand Rank appointment was to PProvGStB  in 1990, promotions followed in 1998 to PProvSGD,  then in 2014 to PProvGSuptWks  and finally to PProvGReg.

For over 52 years Michael served Russell Lodge and Bedfordshire Freemasonry.

Although his physical health was good his mental condition was deteriorating, prior to this he was still a very regular attender of Russell lodge.

Michael was the second longest servicing member of Russell Lodge.

Michael passed away peacefully at home with his wife at his side.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Carol and all the family at this very sad time. I will arrange a condolences card to the family on behalf of yourself and the province
