Bedfordshire Military Lodge no. 10075 Consecrated

Saturday 13th June 2026,  the Corn Exchange Bedford  hosted and marked another significant and historic occasion for Bedfordshire Freemasonry with the Consecration of the Bedfordshire Military Lodge, further strengthening the Province’s commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant.

Following a spell of wet weather, the sun shone on the event as nearly 200 Bedfordshire Freemasons and guests gathered to witness this landmark occasion. The Provincial Grand Master for Bedfordshire, Nick Edwards, was joined by members of the Provincial Executive and visitors from across the country, including Provincial Grand Masters from Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire & Huntingdonshire, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. Also in attendance was Tony Henderson, Past Provincial Grand Master for Bedfordshire.

Presiding over the ceremony, Nick Edwards conducted a sincere and faultless Consecration, rich in symbolism and tradition. A special highlight of the proceedings was the installation of Simon Cole as the Lodge’s Primus Master, who received much acclaim,  conducted by former Deputy Provincial Grand Master Clive Walsh.

Following the formal proceedings, members and guests gathered in the Harpur Suite, where the celebratory luncheon provided an opportunity to reflect on the significance of the day and enjoy the friendship of what is so much the characteristic Freemasonry.

The Consecration of Bedfordshire Military Lodge represents an important addition to the Province, creating a focal point for those with military connections while reinforcing Bedfordshire Freemasonry’s enduring commitment to service, friendship and support for the wider community.

The Province extends its congratulations and best wishes to the Officers and Brethren of Bedfordshire Military Lodge who draws membership from Bedfordshire and surrounding Provinces as they embark on this exciting new venture.
